Last week the boys of Big Shots proved they’re nothing but a bunch of women thinly veiled as men. This week we endure more of the same. I am not really sure if this show is going to survive the network axe, but if it gets canned I am not going to lose a modicum of sleep over it. The two best parts of this show are Christopher Titus’s comedic timing & Dylan McDermott recently filing for divorce from his real life wife.
Moving right along, the boys find themselves in even hotter water this week. Duncan (Dylan McDermott) receives a pop quiz type visit from everyone’s favorite truck stop transsexual while at work. Dontrelle (Jazzmun) tells Duncan that the reporter doing the supposed fluff piece on him is actually writing an article that will leave his career and personal life in shambles. Dontrelle goes on to explain that she/he secretly taped his/her conversation with Duncan about being paid to forget Duncan and their restroom romp.
While Duncan’s life is plummeting quicker than the Dow-Jones, Brody (Christopher Titus) is faced with his own personal quandary. His wife is willing to up their designated sex night to TWICE a week if Brody promises to get a manzilian wax. If you cannot figure out what I am talking about when I say manzilian wax let me spell it out for you — BRODY’S WIFE WANTS HIM TO GET THE HAIR ON HIS TESTICLES REMOVED. This is Brody’s main problem the entire episode. I guess it’s nice to be the completely uncomplicated comedic sidekick, right Christopher Titus?
In the interim, Marla the super psycho mistress demands that Karl (Joshua Malina) make more trips to therapy with her as she becomes super best friends with his wife. I am not even sure what to say about this other than when Marla tries to corner Karl in therapy by saying they should breakup and he is like PHEW, THANK GOD! I cannot tell you how man times I have felt like that. Too bad that is a trick for novices and Marla goes crazy and runs over to Karl’s wife for support over her breakup with him. Oh this reminds me of all sorts of cavorting that went on in high school. TOO BAD THESE WRITERS ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS ACCEPTABLE PRIMETIME MATERIAL. Anyways, Marla tells Karl now that they’re over it’s time to go to war over Wendy. Finally Karl uses his trump card and tells Marla he will tell Wendy about them and it will destroy his marriage and her friendship with Wendy. Marla finally relinquishes control and the two decide to divvy up Wendy. Seriously, she better be one hell of a woman for these two idiots to fight over her like they have.
Poor stupid James (Michael Vartan). Yes, that’s my entire sentence. James’s wife is a tramp and regardless of this he allows her to talk him into coming home. James does this and then the cops show up and are like LISTEN BUDDY, DID YOU TRY TO KILL YOUR BOSS CAUSE HE WAS SLEEPING WITH YOUR WIFE???!!!??! After defending his innocence to the police James overhears his wife telling a detective that she loved his creepy old boss and that his boss’s wife knew about the affair. I guess slut face might be a jezebel, but she sure can tell the truth. And the truth sets James free as his dead boss’s wife confesses to poisoning her philandering husband. After all this James realizes his wife is a bad person and probably it is best for his integrity that he grows a pair and divorces her. Hallelujah, finally someone in this show acts like a man.
And back to Duncan. Duncan thinks sleeping with the reporter will make her fall madly in love with him and give up that tape. Too bad in this show the women are far more cunning than the men and that skank gets up after sex and leaves. Duncan is dumbfounded over the fact that his magic stick did not have so much magic in it. Later on, Brody and Duncan break into the reporter’s apartment and Brody finds deposit slips entering sums of money way larger than a reporter should be making. As a journalist I can tell you that amount of money could be as high as $12.00. OH MY GOD I AM STARVING HERE. Regardless, Duncan and Brody trace the money back to Terrence Hill, Duncan’s arch nemesis who also happens to be dating Duncan’s ex-wife Lizabeth. Are you still following along? Basically Duncan gives Terrence an investment he was going to make so that he can obtain control over the tape & make Terrence stop seeing Lizabeth, his ex-wife.
Did you catch all that? Everyone is still screwing everyone else. Brody gets his nuts waxed off & no sex cause of the pain and swelling. James dumps his wife for good cause she’s nothing but a low-down whore. Karl finally gets Marla to agree to stop acting like a psycho by divvying up the days they get to see his wife. And good old Duncan sells Terrence a company that is going under to stop Terrence from dating his wife and killing his reputation by exposing the tranny incident. Amazing, no? My sentiments exactly.
