Following the success of PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN at the box office, Disney and über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer made a push last week to get another exotic property underway, a live-action version of the popular videogame
PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME.
Disney and Bruckheimer have tapped Mike Newell (LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA) to direct a script written by Jeffery Nachmanoff (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) and videogame creator Jordan Mechner. Newell met with the studio execs last week, and negotiations are expected to begin shortly.
However don’t expect to visit the Arabian sands anytime soon. PRINCE OF PERSIA will not go into production until labor issues regarding the current
WGA strike have been resolved. As a result, a release date for the film is impossible to pinpoint.
Will PRINCE be the next billion-dollar franchise for Disney? Or do the sands of Persia sound like a dry prospect? Rant back and let us know.
1408 — Old-School Stephen King Frightfest
King is the BEST, I own every book he wrote, including Bachman books. The only writer who came close was Clive Barker, but even he got left in the dust. I am so waiting for this movie!! I was devastated when he announced his retirement from writing, but he came back just as strong as ever. I have fun looking for his little cameos in the movies, he also has a sense of humor. And his books transend easily into movies.

Lost Season Finale — "Will Hurley be Fat in this Episode? Answer: Yes."
I actually said to myself that I wasn't going to watch the show anymore, but the season finale changed all of that.At the end of the finale, it was great to see what happened after they got off the island. If I were Jack, I would have never said all of us should go back.Unfortunately, Hurley still hasn't lost any weight, probably at all.l
