It was nothing but a gangsta party this week on THE UNIT.
Bob, Jonas and Grey went undercover on a military base to try an expose a weapons smuggling ring run by soldiers loyal to Mexican gang the Bizlats, of which Grey used to be a member. Dogging the Unit’s investigation was a spunky MP, (HEROES’ STANA KATIC,) who had targeted the Bizlats as well. After a rough reunion with his former gang, Grey managed to infiltrate and get a bead on the stolen weapons.
Back on base, Tiffy had cupid troubles when both her husband, Mack, and covert lover, Col. Ryan, pushed to be the one man in her life. After a rowdy shift at the go-go bar that night, some drunk football players manhandled Tiffy and her friend Annie, leading to a car accident which left Tiffy with a pretty serious concussion. Since she was a stripper with a prior DUI, the cops didn’t feel like any kind of consequence should befall the local football stars, leaving Mack and Col. Ryan to defend Tiffy’s honor the old fashion way: kickin ass!
In the field Jonas, Bob and Grey staged an elaborate setup, using the female MP and her team to draw the rogue soldiers into a gunfight—a prime opportunity for Grey to prove his loyalty by helping the gang leaders escape. The ploy worked and the gang leaders led Grey to the real prize: a stockpile of heat-sensitive, liquid explosives, a prime commodity for terrorists. The Unit sprung their trap, nabbing the gang leaders, their terrorist contact, and recovering all of the smuggled weapons. Not a bad night’s work.
At home Mack and Col. Ryan beat the crap out of the football players for what they did to Tiffy. The episode ended with Col. Ryan standing on Tiffy’s doorstep, asking her to be his, and Tiffy refusing him—while unbeknownst to them, Mack was watching the entire scene unfold. Scandalous!
After two pulse-pounding weeks, and Hector’s shocking death, THE UNIT was due for a slow week. And it cashed that chip with this episode. Call it unseemly if you want to, but I still wish that sniper’s bullet had torn through Grey’s neck rather than Hector’s. Grey I wouldn’t miss as much.
