The first teaser poster for M. Night Shyamalan’s (THE SIXTH SENSE, THE VILLAGE) next film THE HAPPENING is now
online. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg as a man who goes on the run with his family when an environmental crisis threatens humanity’s very existence. John Leguizamo and Zooey Deschanel are also set to star.
As a bit of a twist, the environmental “disaster” which sets the story in motion is reportedly an invisible, airborne neurotoxin, which, once inhaled, causes people to commit suicide. Right. Considering that premise, and the tagline that appears on the teaser poster, this film will undoubtedly be another sermon from Night about the ramifications of environmental abuse, much like THE VILLAGE was a political commentary dressed up as a supernatural thriller. And o’ how I loved that film! (Sarcasm alert!)
As of now THE HAPPENING is scheduled for a Friday, June 13 release (duh, duh, DUH!) It will be Night’s first R-rated film.

1408 — Old-School Stephen King Frightfest
scarry scarry movie.This guy thought he was a toughy, but when it came right down to it, it was like put me back in!! No wonder everyone was dying to jump out of the window!! I love scary movies, and when I see one like this, I actually sleep better at night, knowing just how normal my life is!!The only thing I was concerned about in this movie, was what was reality, and what was an illusion?? Was it all from a real bad place, or from really bad wine??Or did all the talk about the room bring out something in him he never knew he had packed away back in his subconscious!! Then there's the matter of the tape at the end. I'm still working on that one!! Something just doesn't add up!! Hey I give it an 8 for originallity!!
