Bonjour, y’all. My name is Brandon, and my editor tells me and my colleagues that our year-end posts should have some sort of bio on them. In my case, I can’t imagine why the hell you’d want to know anything about me besides what I write, if that, but OK. I am a freelance writer and editor, now living in the cold wastes of northern Idaho so my better half can attend law school. I could bore with more, but that’s why we have the Internet. On to the movies.

These cute little rodents wore their way into my heart so many years ago, and not much has changed. This holiday season has been blessed with a remake of the classic cartoon for the silver screen. Dave (Jason Lee) a struggling musician and songwriter is rejected again for his artistic talents. His friend Ian (David Cross), a big music executive tells him to give up on his dream and stop wasting his time. On his way out of Ian’s building, three tiny chipmunks use him to hitch a ride.

If you haven’t had a chance to memorize every nominee in every category like I have, no worries. A detailed list appears below. Take a look over the list, then rant back to us about actors and/or films YOU feel don’t deserve to be on that list, actors and/or films you feel deserve to be on that list, or even if you feel like the list (and the award show it represents) stopped being relevant a long time ago.

If you are not already a fan of SAVING GRACE this episode will convert you. It is elegantly written and constructed, wonderfully acted and is the single best episode of any series I’ve seen this year – and maybe longer. Simply: it is what this wonderful show has been building to all year.

The Web is on fire with the news that Peter Jackson, acclaimed director of the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, has finally settled his long-standing
beef with studio New Line over “mishandled” profits from the LOTR films. The resolution of this feud has freed Jackson to help New Line bring Tolkien’s LOTR prequel, THE HOBBIT, to the big screen in two separate
installments.

Things are not going well for Dan (Kevin McKidd) and his family. They may have been able to weather the storm of the crazy man Dan sent to prison, but it’s a whole other kettle of fish when your own child goes missing. And the worst part about it for Dan is the fact that he has no control over when he goes hurtling through time.

As the remaining designers watch as out prance 11 women in clothes way too big for their bodies. Heidi proceeds to explain to the designers that their models have each lost a substantial amount of weight and they are each wearing their favorite fat clothes.

Somehow, Boulet (Anthony Anderson) and Cobb (Cole Hauser) managed to get on the wrong side of somebody, because this week, they get the nastiest assignment they’ve received so far: escorting a reporter from a New York paper. Unfortunately for them, their reporter has done some research, and isn’t as easy to fool as they’d like.
