Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favorite writers. The dude is sick, twisted, methodical and rhythmic with his writing style and yet, is somehow brilliant all the same. I was fortunate enough to discover the author before FIGHT CLUB hit screens and made him a literary superstar. I was excited when heard that CHOKE, another popular Palahniuk novel, was bound for theaters. We at Critics Rant were lucky enough to get our hands on some of the
first images from the upcoming film.

WETA, the costume and prop company that brought Middle-Earth to life for the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, has recently been
contracted to handle the costume and prop designs for the upcoming
JUSTICE LEAGUE movie.
Check out the details inside, and let us know what you think these costumes might look like.

Groan! The
more and
more I’m hearing about these additions to the cast of the upcoming G.I. JOE
movie, the more and more I’m convinced that this flick is going to hit theaters D.O.A. The latest unfortunate
news is that Marlon Wayans has been cast as ‘Ripcord,’ the leader of JOE military unit, and G.I. JOE captain Duke’s right-hand-man. While Marlon has displayed some pretty solid acting chops in films such as REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, producers’ claims that they needed an actor ‘who could bring levity to tense situations,’ tells me that G.I. JOE is headed down a very slippery-slope.

We recently reported a
rumor that a particular scene had been shot, which would be shared between upcoming Marvel Comics films
IRON MAN and
THE INCREDIBLE HULK.
Comic Book Movie is now reporting that such a scene has indeed been shot, but it will only be featured in THE INCREDIBLE HULK, when it premieres in June. Check out the details inside.

Variety’s Anne Thompson recently wrote a blog
post that will have fans of the SUPERMAN franchise either jumping for joy, or crying out in agony. The particular entry, which has since, in recent weeks, been confirmed as being more fact than fiction, reported that Bryan Singer, director of SUPERMAN RETURNS would most likely not be returning for the franchise’s next installment. It went on to say that Brandon Routh, the “star” of RETURNS, would also be getting the ax, replaced by a more youthful incarnation of the man of steel, who will appear in the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE
movie.

At the end of last season, we are confronted with the fact that Alison’s (Patricia Arquette) psychic secret gets leaked to the press and her life is sent in a tailspin. Her boss, Manuel Devalos (Miguel Sandavol) the District Attorney loses his bid for re-election and Alison is left without a job. Likewise, Joe (Jake Webber) is also jobless because he refused to play ball with his former employer after he was taken hostage while at work. Basically, Joe and Alison are going broke with three kids to raise, Manuel is also jobless and Detective Scanlon (David Cubitt) has been demoted from working detective giving lectures to grade school kids. Everything sucks for these people. I guess this means this season of MEDIUM will rock my socks off.

Pop Quiz: why would a bonafide media mogul bother to appear in the reboot of a (nerd) beloved sci-fi franchise? Answer: no idea, but it’s going down. Tyler Perry, the writer/producer/director/actor/ behind such church-goer fare such as MADEA’S FAMILY REUNION, and WHY DID I GET MARRIED, has recently been shooting
scenes for J.J. Abrams upcoming STAR TREK
reboot. Perry will reportedly play the head of Starfleet Academy, who tries to keep young upstarts James T. Kirk and Spock in line.
