Reports are that the Weinstein Co., the Studio behind award-wining movies such as HANNIBAL RISING and WHO’S YOUR CADDY has recently come to and interim
deal with the Writers Guild of America—which has been on
strike since Nov. 5—that will allow the studio to move ahead with projects the studio currently has in development.
The agreement between the Weinstein Co. and the WGA is similar to one previously struck between the WGA and David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants production company—an agreement which has allowed Letterman’s LATE SHOW to stay in production for the duration of the writer’s strike.
No specific details about the Weinstein Co. and WGA’s agreement have been released yet, but are expected to come to light in the next few days. We’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, rant back and let us know if you’re sick of not having any new TV besides “American Gladiators” to watch yet. This WGA strike is out of control. Give those writers their pennies!
