After a super long break UGLY BETTY returns and tackles BODY DISMORPHIC DISORDER and how fashion magazine everywhere add to this problem worldwide.  Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) is out of options for SLATER Magazine and she’s finally turning to the sperm sample she swiped from Bradford immediately after his death so that she can get her piece of the Meade pie.  Christina (Ashley Jensen) is dealing with the return of her husband and the fact that he is dying and he needs some experimental treatment to save his life, but sadly, her insurance cannot cover it.  Betty (America Ferrera) continues to deal with the fact that she’s a giant fat slob in a sea of pin thin beauties.  And Daniel and Alexis play power games with Meade magazine and their publishing empire. 

Now we have Wilhelmina in an absolute pickle.  She goes to the gynecologist and they tell her that her womb is hostile and she’s going to need a surrogate.  Wilhelmina with a hostel womb, hilarious.   Together, Marc and Wilhelmina begin to search for a surrogate mother.  Their first choice is Wilhelmina’s manicurist who claims to have five of her own children.  I mean, five children sounds like a very accepting womb, right?  Later, while Marc is scouring porno’s behind the curtain at the video store he stumbles upon the manicurist starring as a dominatrix in a porn.  Now Wilhelmina is out of a surrogate, but luckily Marc ran into Christina and knows she has both a child baring shape and the desperate need for money to help save her formerly estranged husband.  If this is going where I think it’s going Christina will soon be carrying the love child of Wilhelmina and a very dead Bradford for the mere fee of her soul and a hundred grand.

Alexis is taking the power of becoming the president of Meade Publications super seriously and is giving Daniel a harder time than ever.  She shoots down Daniel and Betty’s idea for normal sized models.  Desperate, Daniel comes to an agreement with her and they announce that they will be using normal sized models in their fashion show, but instead of using more normal models they use super waifish models that they put on display during a press show with a scale that is fixed to make everyone seem heavier.  Betty notices this and confronts Alexis.  Alexis says that it was Daniel’s idea and Betty is devastated.  She goes to Daniel with this information and he admits to the fact that he was out of ideas and sick of Alexis neutering him with her power.


Daniel finally decides to go behind Alexis’s back and with the help of Betty he puts on a fashion show with tons of regular sized models (by regular I mean FAT), which turns out to be a hit.  Alexis confronts the media saying that it was her intention all along to do this and save the mega surprise of the regular sized women for the fashion show.  Betty finally feels like she’s vindicated all the fat girls in the world and is happier than ever with Daniel. Daniel is happy that he did something right, but he also did something for the magazine that is both ethical and a complete success.  Anyways, watch out for next week when someone ends up pregnant and previews make it seem like it might just be Betty.
