Before the hiatus, Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Whistler (Chris Vance) attempted an escape from Sona just to be thwarted by some cloud cover. Then Whistler somehow set in motion a big escape that involved helicopters and shooting, but that didn’t work out either. Mahone (William Fitchner) was taken away to possibly clear his name and go home. Lechero (Robert Wisdom) decided it was time for him to leave Sona, and T-Bag (Robert Knepper) was planning some way of taking over Lachero’s crew. I’m sure there was more important stuff, but that was all covered in the “last time on PRISON BREAK” overview, and I don’t remember anything else.
The man who showed up at the end of the last episode is the new general in charge. He takes Michael in for questioning. Michael won’t talk, so he goes into solitary which turns out to be a cage covered in plastic wrap placed out in the yard. Sucks to be Michael.
While Michael is boiling away in the hot box, T-Bag is trying to figure out what’s going on with the escape plan by talking to the resident rat Bellick (Wade Williams). In the process, Bellick pisses off a well-built man with dreads. He gets the chicken foot and must fight. Once again, I have yet to figure out exactly why Bellick is still on the show. I am sick of seeing his beer belly sticking out of his nasty old t-shirt. He needs to hurry up and die or hurry up and become important. He obviously one the chicken foot fight, or I wouldn’t be complaining. Moving on.
Mahone — another unimportant character — returns to Sona to find out that he’s still in on the escape plan that Whistler and Lechero are planning to do with or without Michael. Whistler tells Mahone to go rest because, well, the man is going through serious withdrawal and looks a bit something the dog slobbered all over.
While Whistler and Lechero work on digging their way out of the prison, Michael decides he’s had enough of the hot box and decides to give up some information. He tells the general about Whistler and Susan B. (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) in the hopes of getting back at the Company. Whistler is brought in, and gives up Susan’s name after the threat of torture. Susan is picked up during a meeting with Lincoln (Dominc Purcell), and she is tortured for information.
Since it seems that the Panamanian army is made up of some of the stupidest men ever, Susan comes up with a plan that gets her free and gets the general dead. Needless to say, she’s a bit pissed about the whole situation.
With Michael seemingly out of control (he did put LJ’s life endanger with his little stunt), Lincoln starts to take steps towards something. I’m still not sure what, but I must say that he seems to be growing some brains in the absence of his brother’s usual sensibilities. He and Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) are in cahoots to get a little closer to Susan and The Company. I’m still not sure if Sucre is completely part of the plan because his head is still with his lost girlfriend and his unborn child, so he may turn on Lincoln. Hell, he probably will turn on him because what is PRISON BREAK without a boatload of conflict?
Right now I’m convinced the only way to save this season of PRISON BREAK is for the guys to just break out of prison already. I’m sick of this dog and cat game Susan is playing with Lincoln and Michael. I’m sick of the failed escapes. And I’m especially sick of trying to figure out who the hell Whistler is and if he’s in charge or not.
I’d also like to see more from T-Bag. He’s dark and twisted and a great villain. He’s obviously got some sort of plan brewing in that creepy mind of his, and it involves getting rid of Lechero’s right-hand man Sammy (Laurence Mason). I’m more than a little curious what the plan is and what he hopes to gain from it.
So that’s what I’m saying to the writers who are out picketing right now. When you come back, please write an escape, kill off Bellick, and give T-Bag something really interesting to do.
