This week Alison continues to be psychic, her husband continues to doubt her powers, her daughter continues to be a pain in the ass and they’re all broke and dependant on Cynthia Keener (Angelica Huston) to pay Alison for being a psycho. I mean I psychic, whatever. Can someone explain to me why Joe (Jake Webber) is so negative to his wife’s gift? I mean, I get that it’s his typecast and everything, he is a man of science so he constantly questions the validity of his wife’s powers, but common, if my husband was like YOU ARE PROBABLY OVERREACTING AGAIN every time I had a dream I’d be getting a divorce. Thank god Joe’s cute cause I find his character absolutely obnoxious.
Anyways, now that I have ranted about that I guess I can explain what went on this week. Alison realizes now that she’s a psychic for hire that she better start using her powers PRONTO or Cynthia is going to give her the boot. DAS BOOT! Cynthia shows up complaining about some missing girl and tells Alison to funnel in some answers quickly, but when Alison is like UH, SORRY, THERE ISN’T A BUTTON TO MAKE MAGIC HAPPEN IN MY HEAD Cynthia starts doubting Alison and her gifts. Meanwhile, Alison keeps having these stupid dreams about her daughter hitting a dear and dying and her daughter Ariel (Sophia Vassilieva) keeps having dreams about being Alison’s best friend in high school.
Ariel decides not to press the amber alert and tell her mom about her dreams because in the dream she watches her mother and her friend sneak to a concert by going to some roller skating rink. Girlfriend thinks her mother’s teen scheme is brilliant and uses it herself when she wants to go to a concert with some boy and Alison flips out and says she cannot go cause maybe something will happen and she’ll hit a deer and crash a car, yea right. Eventually, Ariel gets caught and she blames her mother for being a liar and it is like WHOA, THIS IS STUPID. Then Ariel has a dream where Alison and her friend get picked up by the cops while trying to go to the concert, but the cop drops Alison off first and then he takes her friend and rapes her a bunch of times.
Unless you are stupid, you can see where things are going. Alison and Ariel make the connection that the missing girl that Cynthia is looking for has been picked up by the cops. Cynthia gets tons of patrolman’s files from 1987 and Ariel helps them to identify the cop while Detective Scanlon goes and hunts the guy down. Inside his house they find the girl where she’s probably been raping her nonstop for the last four days, sounds magical, huh? Anyways, Ariel and Alison come together to save the family and Alison’s job working for Cynthia who happens to be a major bitch.
