Critical Look: The Rolling Stones' SHINE A LIGHT

By Kofi Outlaw

SHINE A LIGHT is the latest “rockumentary” by legendary director Martin Scorsese. Having previously covered The Band (LAST WALTZ), and Bob Dylan (NO DIRECTION HOME), Scorsese turns his camera on perennial rockers The Rolling Stones, as the group preps and performs a 2006 concert at the Beacon Theater in New York City.

The concert will feature the Stones rolling through their extensive catalogue of hits, and some star-studded duets with music headliners like Jack White, Christina Aguilera, and the legendary B.B. King. (Imagine seeing a two-story, high-def Keith Richards, rocking out in all his withered glory.)

SHINE A LIGHT is scheduled for limited release on April 4, in both standard and IMAX prints. Take a look at the trailer, the production pics, and rant back to us if Scorsese-meets-Jagger sounds like your kind of party.
