Moviefone has posted the first picture of the new U.S.S. Enterprise from J.J. Abrams upcoming STAR TREK reboot.

The pic looks like a production still from the STAR TREK teaser trailer, which will premiere on Jan. 18 in theaters before monster-takes-Manhattan thriller CLOVERFIELD, which is also produced by Abrams. The pic of the Enterprise is too vague for me to really judge, however seeing the legendary ship first being built does make me a bit excited to see how Captain Kirk and crew first stumble into their adventures.

STAR TREK is still scheduled for a Christmas Day 2008 release. The film will star Eric Bana, Winona Ryder, Leonard Nimoy, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Karl Urban, Chris Hemsworth, Zoe Saldana, Tyler Perry and Clifton Collins Jr.
