…And the world continues to only half-care.
Word came down this week that Warner Bros.’ JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, which has had the Internet abuzz for months now about cast and script details, will in
fact be put on indefinite hiatus.
Officially, Warner Bros. execs are claiming that an inability to secure tax breaks filming in Australia, and script revisions obstructed by the WGA
strike, are to blame for the delay. No doubt fans’ fervent objection to the young and widely unknown
cast of JL played a factor as well.
Warner Bros. has opted not to exercise contract options that would’ve required the JL cast to basically sit around, waiting until production resumed. The studio has promised the actors that their places in the film are assured, and that they hope to resume production on the film as close to the original spring ’08 start date as possible. But as we all know, in Hollywood, words tend to hold little water without the legal documents to back them up. We’ll see.
Does the JUSTICE LEAGUE delay shatter your carefully plotted hopes and dreams? Or is this post the first you’ve even heard of the film? Rant back and let us know.
