Hoping to capitalize on positive reviews and strong Oscar buzz, Warner Bros. will be slipping the George Clooney legal thriller MICHAEL CLAYTON back into theaters on Jan. 25, one month before the Oscars.
CLAYTON will be re-run in approximately 1,000 theaters—far more screens than usual for a re-released film. The movie has currently earned $39 million in revenue, enough to recoup its modest $25 million budget, but hardly a box office smash for a star of Clooney’s caliber. I guess Warner Bros. is betting that, by now, enough moviegoers are awake to the sleeper hit to warrant a wide$cale second run.
Did you catch MICHAEL CLAYTON the first time around? Or is this
re-release [LINK 1] an answered prayer for you? Rant back and let us know.
