After rounds of
speculation Paramount made the official
announcement today that actor Channing Tatum (STEP UP) has been cast in the role of G.I. JOE leader Duke. The studio went on to then drop the bomb that actor Dennis Quaid would also be joining the JOE cast as Duke’s boss and mentor General Hawk.
I’m extremely disappointed that Paramount is sending a boy to do a man’s job by casting Tatum as Duke. But then, the G.I. JOE cast has generally been more disappointing than not, so I don’t see why this latest blunder should come as a surprise. Dennis Quaid playing Gen. Hawk is actually pretty amusing. If you check out the pic of the Gen. Hawk figurine below, you’ll see that the character has some definite Quaid-like qualities.
How do you feel about the latest additions to the G.I. JOE cast? Does the figurine pic do anything to sway your vote? Rant back and let us know.
