Seems that studio Fox Searchlight gave birth to a 100 million-dollar baby.
The teen preggers comedy JUNO—nominated for four Oscars, including best picture—has made history for the indie-film studio, by being its first property to ever cross the $100 million mark, beating out previous record holder SIDEWAYS, which earned $71.5 million in 2004.
"This is an astonishing feat for us and the film has surpassed all our expectations. When you have a quality film of this caliber made by amazingly talented filmmakers and actors who truly believe and support a project, you can only succeed," said [Fox Searchlight President Peter Rice.] "We knew this film had cross over potential and it has resonated with audiences all across the country. The entire marketing, distribution and publicity team has poured its heart and soul into making this a phenomenal success and their efforts have been truly remarkable.”
Kudos JUNO!
Other milestones the film has set since its Dec. 14 release include:
Crossing the $100 million mark in just 8 weeks of release, 2nd only to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT for a limited release film.
Being on the Top 10 box-office earnings list for six consecutive weekends and all weekends of 2008.
Making it onto over 175 Top Ten lists.
Received numerous guild nominations including WGA, SAG, PGA, ACE and CDG.
SPIDER-MAN 3: Venom Has No Bite
Are you all crazy?? I liked this one the best of all!! Did you all really watch the movie, or were you all making out?? It was full of action, and it was exciting, and spiderman played evil as well as good. I kinda liked the evil spiderman!! It reminds me of bad boys!! You girls know what I mean!! Why do us woman always go for bad boys?? I thought spidy looked sexy as the evil spiderman!! If I was younger, I probably would have gone crazy for the new spidy!!

THE GAME PLAN: Not As Bad As You'd Think
I agree. Every movie I have seen that the critics trash,I have really enjoyed. I can't help but wonder if the critics are old duffers who are always cranky. Disney movies are supposed to be 'family oriented', and for the most part, they are. I enjoy the predictability. I really liked this movie.
