Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End — Pillaging and Plundering at the Box Office

May 2007 has been an unprecedented month for blockbuster sequels.&nbsp; So far, they haven&rsquo;t been very good.&nbsp; With the arrival of AT WORLD&rsquo;S END, the studios appear to have gone 0 for 3.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD&rsquo;S END begins with a long line of pirates being sent to the gallows.&nbsp; With The Flying Dutchman under the control of the British Royal Navy, the Crown has established a no-tolerance policy towards piracy.&nbsp; Those who survive an encounter with Davy Jones and crew are brought in to die by the hangman&rsquo;s noose.&nbsp; Who will come to the rescue of this defenseless lot?&nbsp; I only hope the same fate will befall the thieves behind a movie that made an estimated $125 million in its opening weekend.&nbsp; But I digress.&nbsp; Okay then.&nbsp; There you go, filmmakers, you have renewed our compassion for the pirates.&nbsp; I daresay Captain Jack Sparrow would be a fine choice for Pirate Hero, but wait a minute.&nbsp; They sent him off to Davy Jones&rsquo; locker at the end of DEAD MAN&rsquo;S CHEST.&nbsp; Well, what then?

I'd rather watch terds floating in my bathtub than see this movie. It would be fun cuz i could pretend one terd is Johnny Depp and one is Orlando Bloom, then I can watch to see if they bump into each other. That sounds better than this movie doesn't it?

i think that the money runs a little long and it seems that no one is actually doing anything in the new movie to make it any better the first movie was great and part two was werid. since no one knew that the mutianous pirate that got shot in part one was still alive and to make matters worse it seems that the the other characters are getting more and more stupid as the movies go on. They really need to make the characters as good in all the movies i like miss swan and orlando bloom in part one but not in the other ones.their parts have become so stupid it does not make for a good movie but no matter jack sparrow is still good in the movie and I think that Johnny Depp was great as he was in all the movies he is truely a good actor

Great movie, the first did a very good job in establishing everything for the rest. This one deserves to be called a great pirate movie. Everything one would expect from a pirate genre was here. Action, betrayal, twist, adventure, suspense, ships, swords, comedy, and all. Johnny Depp again, a sparkling performance in the truest pirate tradition. I hope for a third, though I believe Will and Eliza beth should not be in the fourth. It would be exciting to see the race for the fountain of youth.

Ahhh another 3 hour flick. POTC3 was slow to get underway but as the movie dragged on the pace picked up. Special effects still great. The wedding vow scene in a word "STUPID."<br />Love Johnny Depp but enough of Captain Sparrow or is it Sparra??? Some dialogue difficult to understand.<br />Hey, did anyone recognize Keith Richards?

I'll miss having anymore Pirate movies to see. The price of any movie tickets is outrageous, but this was the best one yet. I eould go see anymore DEPP/BLOOM movies it was fantastic, I miss Johnny on tv, but he picked a winner when he did the trilogy of Pirate movies. I eould have no objections to more. <br /><br />Fan in Phoenix

great movie in spots but fond myself getting board a lot. Was it just me or did they try to pack too much into a 3 hour long movie maybe should have been more like a kill bill thing putting into two movies. The ending was a disapontment they left it wide open and from what i have herd there will not be anymore movies I would have liked an ending.

Maybe I would have enjoyed the first half of the movie a little more had I re-watched the second film before seeing this one. As it was, I had a hard time figuring out what was going on until well into the film. It was fun to watch, mostly. The visuals were great, but I really could have done without all the silly scenes of multiple Captain Jack Sparrows. They were just stupid enough to get on my nerves without actually adding anything to the plot.

I Haven't seen this movie and i'm not going to because they have made enough pirates of the carribean movies and they need to stop because a part one, two, and three i understand but when you have 4,5,6,7,and 8 it kind of gets boring and ridiculious just like the lord of the rings but that's just my opinion

Kevin McCarthy is damn right about this movie... pillaging and plundering is how I would describe it too, not at the Box Office -- but in America itself. <br /><br />Send this movie overseas, rename it to The Pirates of China: Burning and Ripping at World's End, and pray that the booty never flows back to the real pirates -- Disney Pictures.

The longest movie in the series and being a Johnny Depp fan since 21 jump street I feel that the series should be dead after this one. The most amusement I had was Captain Jack's multi personality hallucinations and the monkey. But it seemed lacking in the comedy. I'll buy it to round off my collection but it was a poorly spent 40 bucks.

Why is Kevin the movie critic and who made him king **** of the turd pile? From what Im seeing from reading his rants he wouldnt know a good movie if it bit him. I really hope those reading his rants before seeing the movies dont base there theatrical decision making on his opinions alone. He may sound intelligent but an eye for talent he does not have. If you liked POTC 1 and 2 youll love 3. Depp and Bloom are not only sexy but fantastic actors and are right where they belong in this film.

the curse of the black pearl is considered one of all times best construed movies for kids and the whole family. I couldn't believe myself when I saw real life violence in "at world'd end". Moreover, it was weird to see such serious violence in a movie that is supposed to be of fantasy genre. Johnny Depp was great as usual.

POTC3's World’s End Is A Treasure

Since movies like these are meant to be fun and entertain, I'd say POTC 3 was a great wrap up to all three. POTC 2 was fair, and a little disappointing following POTC1, but POTC 3 made up for it by tying the "loose" storylines and laying a few new ones. The classic touch was the segment after the credits.. Almost all the people I spoke with who watched it left before the credits were over. If you're one of them, you missed a very cute, and possibly a significant part.

The latest episode continues the entertaining demeanor of the franchise. Lots of great action sequences and special effects. The plot certainly thickens and challenges the audience to keep up with the story line. There are some memorable scenes, I especially liked Depp's act in pirate purgatory where he sort of reprises his role in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". The movie also takes a darker turn, characters actually get killed (I don't remember anybody actually dying in the previous ones) and the plot takes on an unexpected emotional twist that lays the foundation for future sequels. Can't wait for the next installment.
