Brandon, you bashed this one pretty had but I'm still going to see it. Comparing it to the Matrix sequels...that's rough. I mean the original Matrix was weak but the sequel (i only saw #2) was unbearable. I hope you are wrong about this.

I saw this last night and Brandon... what the hell?!?!. This was GREAT! As you said the visuals were awesome. It was done in black and white with little to no grey tones creating a totally unique look. The set pieces were incredible with an obvious influence from Blade Runner (cool!) The animation was spectacular.

As for the story you're dead wrong. The story was great. This was a tight thriller with an interesting premise that asked some heavy philosophical questions. It moved along nicely and held my interest. The characters were somewhat over the top and archetypal, but that was necessary given the animation style - lack grey tones which obscurred nuance and details. The dialog was a little flat at times, but nothing too distracting (it may have been translated from French; I'm not sure.) This was great sci fi, one of the better ones I've seen in long while.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE
