Anyone who is anyone between ages twenty and thirty surely remembers when WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT hit theaters in 1988, with its “revolutionary” new techniques in filmmaking, which allowed live actors to share the screen with animated characters. While that classic film might seem outdated in this brave new world of CGI, it seems the minds behind the lovable hare with the hot wife haven’t forgotten him.

I remember hearing they had trouble matching the CGI props with the 2D animation in tests shots back then. CGI props makes a lot of sense now. It dosn't say if the actual characters will be CGI but I did read there were CGI tests of ALL characters as well. The point of Roger Rabbit however WAS the 2D animated Cartoons in real life. If you make it 3D, it changes it too much. I wouldn't mind seeing the CGI characters in a holiday special or something.
